A medida que Chile trabaja para recuperarse de los desastres naturales de las últimas semanas, el país cuenta con la buena voluntad y apoyo de ciudadanos de todo el mundo.
Desastres de esta magnitud nos recuerdan el vínculo común de humanidad que compartimos – nuestra vulnerabilidad y compasión.
Los países y comunidades mejor equipados para responder a tales abrumadores desafíos son aquellos con instituciones que perduran en el tiempo y que tienen la habilidad de liderar con el apoyo y confianza de sus ciudadanos. Estas instituciones pueden encontrarse a todo nivel desde gobiernos nacionales a grupos de la iglesia a agrupaciones barriales locales.
Deutsche Bank es de la opinión que las organizaciones culturales y la vida cultural de una comunidad también son importantes en momentos como estos. Ellas definen e identifican las aspiraciones de una cultura y dan lugar a un tiempo de reflexión. Aplaudimos al MAVI por cumplir este importante rol en Chile y por ser firmes en su compromiso de compartir con el publico nuestra muy esperada exposición colaborativa “Beuys y más allá – La Enseñanza Como Arte.”
MAVI y Deutsche Bank están unidos en la creencia de que el arte es una expresión que reafirma la vida y por esta razón es que vamos adelante con la presentación de “Beuys y más allá – La Enseñanza Como Arte,” que abre el 18 de Marzo del presente. Lo que debía ser una celebración del bicentenario de la independencia de Chile, ha pasado a ser también una afirmación del extraordinario espíritu humano de este país, y la voluntad de avanzar a pesar de las incertidumbres. También es apropiado que Joseph Beuys y Eduardo Vilches se encuentren en el epicentro de esta exposición, siendo ambos artistas y educadores influyentes que fueron ellos mismos fuerzas creativas.
La exposición permanecerá abierta desde el 19 de Marzo al 9 de Mayo de 2010.

As Chile works to rebound from the natural disasters of the past weeks, it is with the good will and support of citizens from around the world.
Disasters of this magnitude remind us of the common humanity we share - our vulnerability and our compassion.
Countries and communities that are best equipped to respond to such overwhelming challenges are those with enduring institutions which have the ability to lead with the trust and support of their citizens. These institutions can be found at all levels from national governments to church groups to local neighborhood associations.
Deutsche Bank believes that cultural organizations and the cultural life of a community are important at these times as well. They define and identify the aspirations of a culture and allow for a time of reflection. We applaud MAVI for serving this important role in Chile and for being steadfast in their commitment to sharing with the public our much anticipated collaborative exhibition, “Beuys and Beyond – Teaching as Art.”
MAVI and Deutsche Bank are united in the belief that art is a life affirming expression and it is for this reason that we go forward with the presentation of “Beuys and Beyond – Teaching as Art,” opening March 18th. What was intended to be a celebration of a bicentennial year of independence for Chile has also become an affirmation of the amazing human spirit here and willingness to go forward in spite of uncertainties. It is appropriate that Joseph Beuys and Eduardo Vilches are at the epicenter of this exhibition, both influential artists and educators who were creative forces themselves.
The exhibition will be on view March 19 - May 9, 2010.
