La muestra reúne obras de 25 importantes artistas de la época, resumiendo las tendencias que disputaban la escena visual de los 80’s. Por un lado, un arte crítico y reflexivo, con obras como las de Eugenio Dittborn, Gonzalo Díaz y Lotty Rosenfeld; por el otro, una corriente más expresiva y espontánea, que reivindica el placer de la pintura, presente en trabajos como los de Samy Benmayor, Pablo Domínguez y Carlos Maturana.
La exposición se complementa con imágenes de hitos noticiosos de los años 80 en Chile y el mundo, que permitirán recordar esos eventos y situarse en el contexto de la época. Asimismo, se integran a la muestra ambientaciones y música de la época, además de la exhibición de la exitosa serie “Los ‘80, de Canal 13.
COLLECTION 80, ARTWORKS FROM THE MAVI COLLECTION
The exhibition brings together works of 25 important artists of the time, showing the trends of the visual scene from the 80’s. On one hand, a critical and reflective art, with works of Eugenio Dittborn, Gonzalo Diaz and Lotty Rosenfeld; On the other, a more expressive and spontaneous tendency, elements that are part of the pleasure of painting, in works of Samy Benmayor, Pablo Domínguez and Carlos Maturana.
The exhibition is complemented with images of important news from the 80s in Chile and the world, allowing us to remember those events and placing us in the 80´s context. Also, the atmosphere and music of the time, as well as the showing of the successful TV series “Los 80”, are integrated into this exhibition.
