BECA AMA, CRISTIÁN SILVA Y CRISTÓBAL LEHYT

Esta exposición reúne obras recientes de Cristóbal Lehyt y Cristián Silva, parcialmente producidas y pensadas durante sus respectivas residencias en el extranjero.
El trabajo de estos enigmáticos artistas se expone en dos muestras individuales, en las que la trama de la curaduría ha sido guiada por la singular naturaleza de las obras mismas. Ambos artistas citan, se apropian, y recurren tanto a la historia del arte como a la cultura popular. Sin necesariamente forzar una alianza, ambos artistas resisten ser identificados con un solo medio, deambulando libre y fluidamente entre el dibujo, la fotografía, la escultura, el video, la instalación y la pintura. Transitando entre un proyecto y otro eliminando deliberadamente las fronteras entre el objeto artístico y el ambiente cotidiano, ubicando sus contribuciones en un lugar donde “arte” y “realidad” se funden.

This exhibition gathers recent pieces of work by Cristóbal Lehyt and Cristián Silva thought and produced during their residence abroad.
The work of this enigmatic artists are exhibited in two individual samples in which the storyline of the curators has been guided by the singular nature of the pieces of work. Both artists mention and resort to art history and popular culture in a similar way without necessarily force an alliance, both artists refuse being identified by a single media, they like to feel free between drawings, photography, sculptures, videos, installations and paintings. Moving between a project and another eliminating intentionally the limits between artistic objects and daily environment, positioning their contributions in a place where “art” and “reality” are merged.
