La artista ha trabajado sus obras en materiales como la arcilla, madera, cerámica y bronce, dentro de instalaciones que simulan altares y en las que recrea atmósferas de sacralidad por medio de diversos elementos no tradicionales como bolsas con agua, sangre, cera de abejas, vidrio, piedra, cuerdas, esmaltes, plumas, piel de serpiente y pelo humano. “El Silencio” quiere ir más allá del lenguaje, el sonido y la forma. Esta palabra tiene una gran fuerza de evocación, incluso contradictoria, de opuestos. Toda obra está conectada con el silencio, tanto el autor, como la obra y finalmente el público. La artista plantea que su obra debe convertirse “en una fisura en la vida normal del público, el que al ingresar en este espacio pueda vislumbrar un modelo distinto de pensamiento”. La escultora además afirma que “busca que el cuerpo de la obra le exija al espectador reparar en el propio, en los sonidos y silencios corporales, mentales y sociales; en sus propios recorridos circulatorios, nerviosos, respiratorios”.
La artista
Nació en 1964 en Concepción, Chile. Estudió Licenciatura en Artes Plásticas con mención Escultura en la Universidad de Chile entre 1983 y 1989. Realizó un Postgrado en Artes Visuales en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México entre los años 1991 y 1993. Escultora de gran trayectoria en nuestro país, sus trabajos han sido expuestos en México y Alemania, obtuvo el premio de la fundación francesa Genio de la Bastilla, entre otros. Entre sus exposiciones individuales destacan “El vuelo excede el ala” y “Más allá de tu mirada” (Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo Texcoco, México, 1990),” La oquedad del tacto” (Galería Fundación amigos del arte, 1994), “Profano-sagrado” (MAC, 1997), “Cuerpo” (Galería Artespacio, 1999),” Carne” (Galería Amigos del Arte, 2000), Samsa (Centro de Extensión UC, 2001), Hembra (MAVI, 2004), “Huella” (Galería BrigitteBailer, Dortmund, Alemania, 2005), “Trawa” (MAC, 2008),“Trawa”(PreußenMuseum NRW Wesel , Alemania, 2012) , “Mon” (Galerie G – l’artauGarage, París, Francia, 2012) entre otras. Recientemente formó parte de la Quinta Muestra de Arte Iberoamericano del Programa de Residencias Artísticas para Creadores de Iberoamérica del FONCA, CONACULTA México.

The artist has worked in her pieces of work with materials such as: clay, wood, ceramic and bronze in installations that simulate altars and where a sacredness atmospheres is recreated through diverse nontraditional elements such as: bags with water, blood, bees wax, glass, stones, ropes, glaze, feathers, snake skin and human hair. “El Silencio”/”The Silence”, wants to go further than language, sound and form. This word has a big force of evocation, even contradictory of opposites. All pieces of work are connected with silence, the author, the piece of work and finally the audience. The artist wants her piece of work to transform in a fissure in the normal life of the audience, and in the moment they enter they can see a different model of thinking.” She also states that “I seek that the body of the work requires the viewer to repair their own, in the sounds and silences of the body, mind and social; In their own circulatory, nervous and respiratory tracts “.
The artist
She was born in 1964, in the city of Concepcion, Chile. She studied bachelor of fine arts in sculpture at Universidad de Chile University between 1983 and 1989. She studied a master on visual arts at Universidad Autonóma University of Mexico between 1991 and 1993. Sculptor with a great trajectory in our country, her work has been exhibited in Mexico and Germany, she got the award of the French foundation Genio de Bastilla, among others. Recently, she was part of the fifth exhibition of the Ibero-American program of artistic residence for creators of Ibero-America of (FONCA), CONACULTA, MEXICO.
