En esta muestra homónima el artista ha seleccionado personalmente las obras que serán exhibidas en la muestra, con el objetivo de poder mostrar, en forma lineal y clara, la historia de su ingente producción artística.

Desde la abstracción y el colorido, características propias de sus primeros años, hasta la geometría y la pintura digital, serán exhibidos en esta exposición. Obras que, aunque distintas, llevan un sello común de la figura humana, manifestándose así uno de sus temas más recurrentes: el hombre y su relación, muchas veces más compleja y enrevesada de lo que quisiéramos, con el entorno y sus pares.

Esta muestra deja ver, también, la trayectoria intrínseca de un artista que, durante los años, se ha mostrado coherente consigo mismo, desarrollando una forma particular de percepción, en donde predomina la sobriedad, el equilibrio y la economía de medios, siempre con una producción de altísima calidad. Así, su carácter reservado y pausado se refleja en una pintura silenciosa y al mismo tiempo certeramente crítica, que descubre a un observador aguzado de la realidad que lo circunda, quizás más allá de lo que él mismo quisiera revelarnos.

En la ocasión, se expondrán diversos trabajos que repasan su recorrido artístico, que va desde dibujos tempranos de la década del 50 y cerámicas realizadas en los convulsos años 70, hasta óleos sobre tela, pastel y acrílico sobre tela, llegando a sus últimas creaciones realizadas en formato digital pero donde el hombre y la problemática actual permanecen como protagonistas.

El artista.

Amador Ricardo Yrarrázaval Larraín nació en Santiago de Chile un 21 de noviembre de 1931. En la capital, estudió junto con los maestros en cerámica André Racz, Claudio di Girólamo y Raúl Valdivieso. En 1952, viaja a Europa por primera vez, para realizar cursos de dibujo y pintura tanto en Roma como en París. Sucesivos viajes se repitieron, los que le permitieron conocer y aprender sobre los movimientos plásticos contemporáneos, además de sus experiencias por América latina.

Numerosos reconocimiento y premios tiene a su haber, destacando la beca Guggenheim-Pintura, que lo mantuvo un año en Nueva York, distintas invitaciones internacionales y, también, el reconocimiento de sus pares en 2002 y 2003, años en que se adjudicara el Premio Altazor. En 2010, la asociación de Críticos de Arte de Santiago, le entrega el primer premio en Artes Visuales a la Trayectoria, galardón que refleja el aporte de la obra de Yrarrázaval a la historia del arte de nuestro país.

Ha realizado numerosas exposiciones, tanto individuales como colectivas, en importantes centros artísticos de Chile y el extranjero, entre ellos Washington, Buenos Aires, Río de Janeiro, Nueva York, París, Caracas y Medellín, por citar solo algunos. Además, muchas de sus obras forman parte de la colección permanente de los museos más significativos del país (MNBA, MAC, MAVI, entre otros).

In this homonymous exhibition, the artist has personally chosen the pieces of work that will be exhibited, with the objective of showing in a clear and linear way, the story of his huge artistic production.

From the abstraction to the coloring, typical characteristic of the first years, from geometry to digital painting will be exhibited in this exhibition. Pieces of work that are different but have a similar seal of human figure, expressing one of the most typical subjects: men and his relations, sometimes more complex and confusing than expected with the environment a his pairs.

In this exhibition we can see the intrinsic trajectory of an artist that during years has shown coherence with himself, developing a particular way of perception where sobriety, balance and medical economy predominate, always with a production of high quality. His reserved and paused character reflects in a painting that is silent and at the same time accurately critic, that discover an improved observer of reality maybe even more that he would like to reveal.

In this occasion, there will be diverse Works exhibited that will show his artistic trajectory from his drawings in the 50’ and ceramic made in the 70’ to oil painting and acrylic in fabric, and his last creations made in a digital format where the protagonist is the men and his actual problems.

The Artist

Amador Ricardo Yrarrázaval Larraín was born in Santiago de Chile the 21st of November, 1931. He studied in Santiago with the ceramic teachers André Racz, Claudio di Girólamo and Raúl Valdivieso. In 1952, he traveled to Europe for the first time to study drawing and painting in Rome and Paris. There were several trips that made him know and learn about the contemporary plastic movement plus his experience in Latin America.

He has several recognitions such as Guggenheim- Painting grant in New York for one year, different international invitations and also the recognition of his pairs in 2002 and 2003, the year he won the Altazor award. In 2010 the Art Critic Association of Santiago, gave him his first Visual Art Trajectory award, because of the contribution that made the pieces of work of Yrarrázaval to the history of art in our country.

He has made several exhibitions, individually and collectively in important artistic centers in Chile and abroad such as Washington, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Paris, Caracas and Medellin, among others. Also, lots of his exhibitions are part of the permanent collection of the most important museums of the country (MNBA, MAC, MAVI,among others.).
