MAVI, COLECCIÓN ITINERANTE

Compuesta por más de 1400 obras de arte chileno, la colección MAVI llega al Centro Cultural de la comuna de Lo Prado con una selección de pinturas y esculturas pensadas para ser admiradas y entendidas por un público que no está habituado a ir a los museos o galerías.

“El arte contemporáneo no siempre es bien recibido ni comprendido, y es por esto que con esta acción que va acompañada de un ambicioso plan educativo, el MAVI quisiera acercar a un público distinto hacia la apreciación del arte chileno”, explica María Irene Alcalde, Curadora de la Colección MAVI, quien agrega que “el nuevo Centro Cultural Lo Prado reúne las características estéticas y de conservación que requiere una muestra de estas características, donde se han mantenido los estándares de exhibición del museo”.

Interfaz-MAVI se llama el método confeccionado por el área educativa del museo, donde los educadores realizan visitas participativas con niños de colegios municipalizados los días miércoles en tres horarios diferentes. No se trata de una visita guiada, sino de una experiencia museal significativa, que incluye la entrega de recursos didácticos a docentes para hacer un trabajo en aula con niños antes y después de visitar la muestra.

La encargada del área educativa de MAVI, Paula Cabellería, explica que “este modelo inserto dentro de las propuestas museológicas y educativas de vanguardia, tienen la potencialidad de transformar significativamente la labor educativa de modelos tradicionales y de interpretación de una obra”. La experta agrega que “con estas propuestas de educación museística, consideraremos al museo como un espacio múltiple de reflexión, convivencia, aprendizaje e interpretación, que considera al público como usuario y la participación activa de estos”

Terminada la exhibición en el Centro Cultural de Lo Prado, el equipo educativo liderado por Paula Caballería visitará los colegios a los que asistieron estudiantes y profesores para registrar los trabajos visuales realizados post visita y un realizar también el registro escrito de cada niño para expresar su experiencia vivida.

“Contemporary art is not always well received or understood, and this is why, with this ambitious educational plan, MAVI would like to bring a different audience closer to the appreciation of Chilean art,” explains María Irene Alcalde, Curator of the MAVI Collection, who adds that “the new Lo Prado Cultural Center brings together the aesthetic and conservation characteristics required by a sample of these characteristics, where the museum’s exhibition standards have been maintained.”

Interface-MAVI is the method made by the educational area of the museum, where educators do participatory visits with children from public schools on Wednesday at three different times. This is not a guided tour, but a significant museum experience, which includes the delivery of didactic resources to teachers to do a classroom work with children before and after visiting the exhibition.

The head of the educational area of MAVI, Paula Cabellería, explains that “this model inserted in the museological (from museology) and educational avant-garde proposals have the potential to significantly transform the educational work of traditional models and interpretation of an art work.” The expert adds that “with these proposals of museum education, we will consider the museum as a multiple space of reflection, coexistence, learning and interpretation, which considers the public as a user and the active participation of them”

After the exhibition at the Cultural Center of Lo Prado, the educational team led by Paula Caballería will visit the schools, attended by students and teachers, to record the visual work done after the visit and also gather written experience lived by each children.
