¿Sabía Ud. que el nombre original de la primera Estación de la Línea 1 del Metro que sería inaugurada por el ex Presidente Salvador Allende para fines de 1973 era Violeta Parra?, ¿Sabía Ud. que finalmente se inaugura en 1975 y se cambió ese nombre original por el de San Pablo? ¿Sabía Ud. que el trazado original de la Línea 1 del Metro llegaba hasta la Estación Tobalaba para doblar hacia Vitacura y terminar finalmente en la Remodelación San Luis, un señero proyecto habitacional de viviendas sociales del Gobierno de la Unidad Popular ubicado en la Comuna de Las Condes, y del cual hoy solo sobreviven algunos bloques deteriorados?
Estas y muchas otras preguntas que nos hemos hecho para conocer esta historia desconocida por muchos, es la partida de este proyecto mediante el lenguaje de la ucronía, aplicado a tres maquetas de estaciones del Metro ficticias.
Podremos viajar a una realidad paralela en donde se manifiesta el experimento modernista de integración entre arte y arquitectura con un fuerte sello social que vivió Chile hasta comienzos de la década del 70, del cual hoy día tenemos testimonios elocuentes como el proyecto del mural cerámico cinético en el paso bajo nivel de Carmen con Alameda, de los artistas Vial, Ortúzar y Bonatti, o el conjunto de obras concurrentes en el proyecto del Edificio UNCTAD III, todos ejemplos de un futuro anterior que nos mira desde un pasado que nos convocó como sociedad.

Did you know that the original name of the first station of línea 1 of the subway that was going to be inaugurated by the former president Salvador Allende in 1973 was Violeta Parra?
Did you know that this station was finally inaugurated in 1975 and the name changed to San Pablo? Did you know that the original route of linea 1 of the subway was until Tobalaba Station, then it turned to Vitacura to finally end in San Luis remodeling, a social housing project of the Popular Unit government located in Las Condes commune and which today only exist some deteriorated residential blocks?
This questions and much others that have made us know about this unknown story for some people, is the reason this project started by uchronia language applied to three models of fictitious subway stations.
We will travel to a parallel reality where the modernist experiment of integration between art and architecture is manifested with a strong social characteristic that had Chile until the beginning of the 70’s, which we today have powerful testimonies like the ceramic project board in the Carmen con Alameda street underpass by the artists Vial, Ortuzar and Bonatti or the attending series of works of UNCTAD III proyect Building, all examples of an earlier future that looks at us from a past that called us as a society.
