La muestra individual de Emma Malig está compuesta por dos instalaciones de grandes dimensiones, en las que – apelando a ciertas reminiscencias de las linternas mágicas – logra evocar de manera sutil, el desamparo y desarraigo de nómadas, exiliados y emigrantes que sin tener un lugar, lo sueñan y lo inventan.
Se trata de una obra etérea, en un material que se pliega y despliega, ligero y al mismo tiempo monumental. Trabaja con materiales muy variados; tradicionales como los papeles de distintas texturas o informales como encajes, hilos, gasas o finos alambres de acero (cuerdas de piano), etc. Los textos o palabras siempre presentes en las obras parecen inspirados en la poesía japonesa Haiku.
En un proceso complejo y profundo, la artista construye un relato silencioso y atemporal, que intenta reunir tanto la pérdida como la reconstrucción de un lugar.
